In today’s tutorial, I’ll show you how I turned a handful of plastic eggs and fabric scraps into the cutest primitive bowl fillers. • Fabric remnants in fall colors or patterns
• A round object to trace (approx. 6” or 4” diameter depend of the size of the eggs you have. Mine were larger ones)
• Plastic Easter eggs (medium to large size works best)
• Needle and thread
• Hot glue gun
• Twine or handmade crochet chain
• Twigs or stems from outside (for the acorn top)
• Scissors
• Optional: Crochet hook (if making your own chain)
🍂 Step-by-Step Tutorial
1. Cut Your Fabric Circles
Choose your fall-themed fabric and trace a 6” circle using a bowl or any round object. Cut out the fabric circle. You’ll need one circle per acorn.

2. Sew a Running Stitch Around the Edge
Thread your needle and sew a loose running stitch around the edge of the fabric circle. Pull slightly to create a pouch shape — this will help it fit nicely over your plastic egg.

3. Cover the Egg Top
Place the fabric over one half of the plastic egg (the rounded side). Tighten your thread to gather the fabric and secure it in place.
Add a small dab of hot glue just under the stitched edge to keep the fabric from slipping.
