Weekly Musings: Canada Day Magic, Organizing the Art Studio, and a Health Pivot
Hello friends, and welcome back to my weekly corner of the internet. This past week was a beautiful reminder of what slow living truly means to me: embracing local celebrations, organizing my creative space, and listening closely to what my body needs.
Here is a little look into how I spent my days.

Here is a little look into how I spent my days.
Canada Day was a lovely mix of vibrant community energy and quiet moments. I started my day heading over to Granville Island to watch the iconic small ferries perform their annual water ballet. There is something so joyful and whimsical about watching those little boats dance across the water.

Afterward, I wandered over to the waterfront for a couple of hours, just soaking in the sea breeze and the festive atmosphere. My phone battery started running low—which turned out to be a hidden blessing, as it forced me to unplug completely and just be present.

I headed home for a peaceful, late lunch. To cap off the day, I didn't even have to travel far for the grand finale. The evening fireworks were happening right across the street from my building, so I got to enjoy the spectacular display right from the comfort of home.

On the creative front, I dedicated a chunk of time this week to bringing order to my artistic chaos. Since my primary focus right now is creating surreal collages, my paper collection was getting a bit overwhelming.
I decided to systematically organize all my loose papers and cut-out images. I sorted them by category and filed them neatly into folders inside my filing cabinet. Now, when I am in the middle of a creative flow and need a specific element, I can find it in seconds instead of digging through piles.
I also managed to put together a few new collage pieces! They just need a few final touches before they are officially finished.
Exciting Shop News: I have officially added a Shop page right here on my blog! Once these new pieces are finalized, I will be listing them for sale there, as well as sharing them across my social platforms. Stay tuned if you'd like to bring a piece of my surreal world into your home.

A Mindful Shift in My Health Journey
Lastly, I received my latest blood test results this week. To be completely transparent, they weren't the best. While it was a bit tough to hear, I am looking at it as an opportunity to practice slow, intentional self-care.
Right now, I am focusing heavily on improving my health from the inside out. My primary step is consciously cutting down on sugar and processed carbohydrates. I am taking it one meal at a time, focusing on whole foods, and keeping up with my daily long walks and gentle, light stretching to keep my body moving.
Thank you for walking this slow living journey with me. How was your week? Did you celebrate Canada Day, or perhaps spend some time organizing your own creative hobbies? I would love to hear from you in the comments below!
