A Healing Journey on Mother’s Day

A Healing Journey on Mother’s Day

White Rick, a seaside town in British Columbia
There is a legend about the massive White Rock laying on the shore.

Yesterday, on Mother's Day, I embarked on a poignant journey to White Rock, a place filled with memories of my mother. With a heart full of emotions, I made my way to the cemetery where she rests, carrying flowers to honor her. The journey, though physically distant from Metrotown, was emotionally closer than ever.

The train ride followed by a bus journey allowed me time to reflect the moments shared and the ones lost. Guilt had long weighed heavy on my heart for not being there to hold her hand as she transitioned in 2012. But amidst the beauty of White Rock, I found solace, a balm for the soul.

The cemetery, nestled in the tranquil surroundings, became a sacred space where I could pay my respects, lay flowers, and finally find some closure. And as I gazed upon the serene landscape, I felt a sense of peace wash over me, knowing that she was at rest.

After my visit, I decided to embrace the beauty of the day and explore more of White Rock. Taking another bus, I found myself at the seaside, where the fresh air and the soothing sound of waves welcomed me. Walking along the picturesque promenade, I couldn't help but marvel at the breathtaking views, and the playful seagulls dancing in the sky.
