What is the vision board? Does it work? Do I need one?
My retirement and overseas move plans
have been postponed until the end of this year.
I am slowly sorting my
belongings, paperwork, artworks, art supplies and everything in between. My eye
caught the vision board I have for years on the pantry door. I was looking at
it and realized that accomplished and achieved almost everything I was
manifesting for. My memories took me back 10 years ago when my life was in bits
(failed marriage, mother passed away, jobless, and penniless), everything
around me was falling apart. “When it was raining, it was pouring”.
During that time a lovely
resident from my workplace asked me if I had a vision board and if not, that I
should create one. She briefly explained what it is and how to create one. I
was very sceptical how some magazine clippings could sort out my life. Being
desperate to get my life back on track I decided to give it a try.
So, what I suppose to do with my
current poster now? Destroy it, burn it, or take it with me to Canada. Heading
towards the “next chapter” of my life I have new vision, goals, dreams and
wishes.
What is a
VISION BOARD?
A vision board is a tool to have during your
journey to turn your dreams into reality. It's called manifestation. It is a collection of images or objects arranged in a way to help you manifest your goals or vision.
It's not a total magic, and it is not that something
that happens overnight. You can't just sit back and expect it to magically make
things a reality. Take active steps and believe all dreams and wishes will
become into reality.
How do you start a vision board?
Take a moment of self-reflection and figure out
what is most important to you. Think about you really want you really want to
change and achieve in your life.
Here are
some examples:
- Health, Wellness & Self-Care. ...
- Love & Relationships.
- Home & Family. ...
- Dream Job & Career Goals. ...
- Personal Finances. ...
- Personal Growth. ...
- Travel Goals.
Start collecting images, quotes, words that will help you to visualize
your goals and dreams then glue them on a cardboard.
Start collecting images, quotes, words, that will help you to visualise your goals and dreams then glue them on a cardstock. I re-created mine, took a picture, printed on A3, A4 papers, then placed one in the kitchen,in my notebook/diary and saved as background on my phone. This way it is in front of my eyes daily.
It’s finally time to place your vision board. Choose a place that makes sense for you. It should be easily accessible daily.
